She was born October 9, 1933 in Elmira, to the late John and Ruth (VanHorn) Watts, and passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. The oldest of 6 children, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth "Scott" Bush; son-in-law Jerry Miller; siblings John "Jack" Watts, Betty Harris, and Dorothy Evans; as well as nephews Jack Kellogg and Billy Rinker. Virginia is survived by children Ann (Warren) Wood of Himrod, NY, Betsy Miller of Pine City, NY, Jim (Meg) Bush, and Scott (Lisa) Bush of Elmira, NY, Carl (Rochelle) Bush of Breesport, NY, and Cindy (David) Nagy of Millerton, PA. She is also survived by her sisters Helen GradWohl, and Martha Wilgosz of Elmira, NY; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives. Virginia, along with her late husband were lifetime dairy farmers and active members of the agriculture community. Virginia touched many lives over the years as a 4-H leader and foster parent. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. Her family was always first in her thoughts and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the joys of her life. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Her funeral service will be held there immediately following at 6 pm. Committal and interment will take place privately; Virginia will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NY. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the East Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., 266 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira, NY 14901., or to CareFirst at carefirstny.org.
