Obituary of Raymond G. Hampson Jr

Raymond G. Hampson Sr. Age 95 of Horseheads, NY. Raymond passed away at home on Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born in Hartford Connecticut in 1929 to Raymond Sr. and Ruth Hampson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Litchfield, in 1989 and by his second wife, Barbara Lyke, in 2012. He graduated from Loomis Preparatory in Windsor, CT and with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. His career spanned 35 ½ years at Westinghouse/ Phillips Lighting in Bath, NY, retiring in 1988 as senior manufacturing engineer. He was Past President of the Bath Jaycees and a member of the group that started the Babe Ruth League in Bath. He was also past Secretary of the Keuka Yacht Club, and active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corning, NY – serving as Assistant Treasurer and Trustee. He is survived by his sister Barbara Hampson Ivey; sons Brian (Sue Ellen), Jeffrey (Karen), and Robert Hampson; five grandchildren – Leslie, Scott, Abigail, Allyssa, and Erin Hampson. Private services will be held with family. Those who wish may send a donation to the Chemung County SPCA.
