Obituary of Louise Sweet

Anna Louise Sweet, Born May 9, 1929 in Waverly, NY, surrounded by members of her family, passed peacefully while under the care of Chemung County Nursing Facility on February 23, 2025 at the age of 95. Wife of the late Lloyd Sweet, she was also pre-deceased by her brother Frank Hebel, her sister Esther Tuttle and her granddaughter Garrin Shelton Erickson. She is survived by her children: Tom (Mary) Sweet, Michael (Michele) Sweet, Kim Sweet, Randy (Tracy) Sweet, Tracy (Joel) Klose, and Matthew (Paulette) Sweet; Grandchildren: Nicole (Cherif), Tommy (Angel), CJ, Matt, Chelsea (Brandon), Christopher, Casandria, Grady, Nathan, and Ally; Great-grandchildren: James, Henry, Rio, and Lincoln as well as and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. After her husband died, Louise earned her associate’s degree in nursing in 1974 from Corning Community College. She went to work for St. Joeseph’s Hospital in Elmira for 18 years and many of them in the burn unit. She will always be remembered for her love of nursing at St. Joe’s and as a girl scout leader, taking her troop on trips such as Washington DC and camping on Langdon Hill. She also loved her flowers and enjoyed gardening around her house. Louise was an avid baseball fan, often taking trips to see the New York teams play. As per Louise’s request, there will be a private family service at the convenance of the family. The family would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for taking such great care of their mom.
