Obituary of Gregory Alan Bolt

BOLT, Gregory Alan Age 60 of Rochester, NY Greg passed away peacefully surrounded by close family members after a short battle with illness. He was born February 4, 1965, son of Gerald M. and Elsie E. (Jones) Bolt of Watkins Glen, NY. Greg was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving partner Tammy Yacono and their four-legged companions; siblings David (Patricia Dall) Bolt of Spring, TX, Terry (Carolyn) Bolt of Horseheads, Penny Bolt Watkins Glen, NY Jeff (Melissa) Bolt of Odessa, FL, and Wendy (Stewart Jr.) Field of Watkins Glen, NY; along with many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends In Greg's early years, he rode anything with two wheels at the age of ten. As a young man, Greg attended the Pocono 500 Indy race with his family and friends, disappeared on his bike, just then the grandstands erupted in cheers, claps and yelling. Yep, it was Greg doing a wheelie on his bike down the front straight away for a quarter of a mile in front of thousands of race fans. Soon after Greg started riding competition motorcycle trials riding over boulders, down waterfalls-very scary endeavors. Excelling to expert class in a short period of time, he competed in the World International Trials Competition competing in New York, Colorado, and Pennsylvania against European riders. Greg excelled at all levels. In the 1980's Greg and his brother Jeff entered the California Superbike School cresting speeds of 180 mph and was offered sponsorship. Greg opened Specialty Machine Shop in Bradford, New York, eventually moving to Rochester, New York to further his career as a top machinist at Spex Precision Machine Technologies. Greg enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Greg will be missed by close family and working companions. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025 from 2 to 3 pm. His memorial service with a time of sharing will follow at 3 pm.
