Marilyn Ann Skebey

Age 78 of Horseheads, NY. She was born August 8, 1946 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late William Daniel and Dorothy (Heath) Skebey. Marilyn joined her Lord in Paradise on Palm Sunday, April 13th, 2025.

Marilyn and her kind spirit will be greatly missed by her surviving family; daughter Sarah Lynn Skebey; sisters Joan Cunnings, Patricia (Tom) Opper, and Elizabeth (Dan) Balok; along with beloved cousins Thomas, Maureen, and Virginia; as well as many dear friends.

An EFA graduate of the Class of 1964, she was the last class of the old school.

She was a longtime member of the United Baptist Church. Her giving and supportive soul was a gift to all those, family or friend, whom she encountered.

Marilyn enjoyed gardening, playing cards & Scrabble, watching Wheel of Fortune. She was a devout Christian and treasured her beloved daughter Sarah and her three sisters. She loved flowers, birds, and maintaining the garden at Bethany Knoll

Family and friends are invited to visit the United Baptist Church, 300 East Miller St., in Elmira, on Saturday, April 26 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Her funeral service will follow at 1 pm.

Family will hold private committal and burial for Marilyn.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may honor her with a donation to the Chemung County SPCA, or her church.
