Mrs. Evelyn Margaret Swan (Robinson).

Age 92 of Horseheads, NY. She was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1932 in Charleston, SC, and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 19 th , 2025. Evelyn met John, May 1949 on a blind date and on July 10, 1949 they were married in Brox, New York.

Evelyn was retired from YWCA from housekeeping and Arnot Reality Arnot Mall housekeeping. A lifelong member of Horseheads, NY American Legion Bentley-Trumble Post 442.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her dear husband of over 30 years, John R. Swan on November 30 th , 1980; sisters Daisy Brown, and Dorothy Weir; and her sons-in-law Darrell Dames, and Wayne McMillan. She is survived by her children Sylvia Dames, David Swan, JoAnn Swan, Donna McMillan, and Sharon (Scott Lowry) Swan; grandchildren Wayne McMillan Jr, and Dianna Dames; sister Norma Banks; sister-in-law Mary Swan; with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, on Friday, May 2nd, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Her funeral service will be held there on Saturday, May 3rd at 11 am. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.
