(Jerry) Vargeson Jr.; sister-in-law Carol A. DeKay; and brother-in-law Charles Woodhouse He is survived by his wife Victoria E. (Pritchard) Vargeson; children Troy (Kim) Vargeson, Tanya (Mike) Harris, John (Michelle) Vargeson, and Kimberly (Chad) Chauvin; grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Nicholas, Cassandra, Ariah, Jake, Jimmy, Mason, Collin, and Dwayne III; siblings William (Diane) Beam, LuAnn (Harry) Beam Morgan, and Nancy Beam; mother-in-law Florence Wantuck; brothers-in-law Dale (Renee) Pritchard, and Donald Pritchard Jr.; special cousin Frank (Gail) Calkins; and best friend for over 70 years Walt (Linda) VanZile; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends. Dwayne's time in the Air Force from 1960 to 1962 instilled in him a sense of purpose and dedication, qualities that shone brightly during his tenure as a driver with Chemung County Transit, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of his passengers and formed many bonds with each of them. He was always checking in with his passengers, making friends, and providing a helping hand when he saw fit. Dwayne was a huge Elvis fan, so fitting that he wants 'Return to Sender' on his tombstone. He looked so much like him in his younger years, loved to watch M*A*S*H, and loved a good cup of coffee. He spent a lot of elbow grease restoring his two 240Z Datsun's. While getting in Facebook jail for his political opinions was inevitable, he loved a good laugh. A private ceremony with military honors will be held; Dwayne will be laid to rest in the Woodlawn National Cemetery, in Elmira, in recognition of his service to our country.
