Jean Catherine Lasher Jones of Horseheads, NY, daughter of Vernon Wesley Lasher and Eunice Elizabeth Boardman Lasher of Chittenango, NY has entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jean was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Marvin Ross Jones, as well as her parents, her two sisters; Alice Eunice Lasher Shinaman of Marcellus, NY, and Grace Leontine Lasher Atkinson of Oneida, NY, and one brother; Robert Jay Lasher of Chittenango, NY.

Jean is survived by her seven children: Jonathan Marvin Jones (Sandra Lalonde), Deborah Grace Wood, Darael Ann Mahoney, Joel Ross Jones (Deborah Southard), James Robert Jones, Dawn Elizabeth Lee (Joseph Lee), Deanne Eunice Bramlett (Hawkie Bramlett), 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren.

Jean was a 1943 graduate of Chittenango High School, and a 1947 graduate of NY State College for Teachers, Albany, NY. She was employed for three years by the Association of Child Character Education, Inc., Elmira, NY where she visited several area schools (including many one-room school houses), teaching visual flannel graph Bible lessons, scripture, and songs.

Family and friends are invited to the Pine Valley Baptist Church, 4872 Pinecrest Road, in Millport, on Thursday, September 25th from 11am to 12pm. Jean's Funeral Service will begin at 12pm. Committal prayers and Interment will follow in Pine Valley Cemetery, Pine Valley, NY.
