Obituary of Thomas Alan Fairchild

Fairchild, Thomas Alan Age 70 of Horseheads, NY. Thomas was born November 4, 1954 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Charles and Alberta (Miller) Fairchild, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 18, 2025. A loving husband, father, and grandfather; he is survived by his wife Diana (Marshall) Fairchild; their dog Roxanne; son Thomas and daughter in law Bree, son Brad and daughter in law Ethel; Brothers Charles (Nancy) Fairchild, and Bill (Andrea) Fairchild, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Chuckie; and stepfather Lynn Morter. Thomas served in the U.S Navy, worked hard all his life, and greatly enjoyed flowers, hot wings, and Hopalong Cassidy. He was a devoted grandfather especially; he lovingly raised his granddaughter Kaitlyn as his own. Their bond was more like that of a father and daughter, and their love for each other was evident to all who knew them. We take comfort now, knowing that Thomas and Chuckie are together again. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Monday, September 22nd, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Committal with military honors graveside will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.
