Obituary of Dennis Allen Dailey

Dennis Allen Dailey October 6, 1949 – October 22, 2025 Dennis Allen Dailey, 76, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. Born and raised in Penn Yan, New York, on October 6, 1949, Dennis lived a life defined by hard work, his prolific love for cars, and his dedication to his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lynne Marie Dailey (Kenyon); his children, Bradley Allen Dailey and wife Jessica, Todd Ryan Dailey Penny Shoemaker, and Mallory Ann Bower (Dailey); and his cherished grandchildren, Charlotte, Hadleigh, and Sullivan, many nieces and nephews especially his great niece Ashley Wilkens (Dailey) and his best friend Carl Pipp. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Viola Dailey, and his siblings, Hermia McClure, Sheila Ayers, and Douglas Dailey. Dennis retired from NYSEG after 32 years, where he served as manager of the garage responsible for maintaining the company's fleet vehicles. He took great pride in his work and the people he worked alongside. A man of simple pleasures, he focused on two things: his family and his cars. He was immeasurably proud of his wife and kids. A special thank you to all of the nurses at Falck Cancer Center, Wilmot Cancer Center and Arnot Ogden ICU. His family will miss his steady presence and his familiar phrases. They never did tell him whether they'd like to walk to school or carry their lunch. A celebration of life will be held at the family's discretion.
