Obituary of Kenneth I. Seymour
Kenneth Ivan Seymour
Age 78 of Horseheads, NY. Ken was born June 18 th , 1947 the son of the late Murray Seymour and the late June Dykstra. He was a master pattern maker owning his own business, D&M Enterprises, for 19 years. Ken was predeceased by his wife Carol Seymour; his son Michael Seymour; his stepmother Wilda DeHaas; his brothers Steve and George Seymour; and his sisters Vicki Brock and Judy Hunt.
Ken is survived by his son David (Cassie) Seymour; his sisters Jaquelynn (Terry) Seymour-Tice and Junette Brock; his brother Andy Seymour; his grandsons Ryker, Thomas, Remy and Robert Seymour; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Ken grew up throughout the Southern Tier before enlisting in the Vietnam war. He joined the 1 st Infantry Division following his father who was in the same division in WWII. Ken was a master craftsman. Since a teenager, he had been making furniture, black powder muskets and black powder rifles. He reclaimed a Big Flats tobacco barn to build his family's home.
He enjoyed travelling, mixing history with fun. He entertained others with historical tales. In his later years, his favorite things to do was to support his grandchildren in their activities as well as visiting with his friends.
Ken will be missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, on Sunday, November 23 rd , 2025 from 12PM to 2PM. Ken's memorial celebration will be held there at 2PM. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, with military honors.
