Obituary of Frances McGinnis

McGinnis, Frances (Gray) Age 91 of Horseheads, NY. Frances was born on February 23rd, 1934, the daughter of the late Jack A. and Anna (Ochab) Gray. She passed away peacefully, family gathered at her side, on Friday, November 21st, 2025. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Gerald H. McGinnis, in 2022; also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Connie McGinnis. She is survived by her children Mark McGinnis, Rodney (Patsy) McGinnis, and Susan (Glenn) McGinnis-Payne; grandchildren Heather (Kevin) McGinnis-Noterfonzo, Sarah (Matt) McGinnis-Harnas, Tony (Amanda) McGinnis, and Scott (Krya Adams) McGinnis; along with many dear great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Working for many years as a bus driver, Frances enjoyed to 'kindergarten run'. Her dry humor and no-nonsense attitude were well known. She spent her time teaching her grandchildren many skills, particularly related to camping trips, and always enjoyed her time spent with family. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Monday, November 24th, 2025 from4 pm to 6 pm. Private services and interment will be held later with Frances's family. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, alongside Gerald.
