Obituary of Gerry L. Patrick

Gerry L. Patrick peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the age of 93. Gerry was born July 30, 1932 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Margaret (Daugherty) Sadler. She married Ray Patrick in Parkersburg, West Virginia on July 18, 1953. Gerry is survived by daughters, Rebekah (Mark Scouten) of Kissimmee, Florida and Joy (Brady) Wolcott of Bowie, Maryland; son, David (Dee) Patrick of New Port Richey, Florida; son-in-law Tim Castle of Smyrna, Tennessee. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Gerry was predeceased in death by Ray, her husband of nearly 70 years, her daughter Debra Castle, her mother, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Gerry and Ray lived in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Blacksburg Virginia and Big Flats, New York as Ray was transferred with Corning, Inc. After Ray retired, Gerry worked with Ray for 10 years as he served as Director of Lamoka Baptist Camp. They also traveled together doing volunteer work with the Sowers Ministry and Baptist Missionary Builders. In earlier years, Gerry also enjoyed sewing handmade crafts for her grandchildren and also sold her crafts at local craft fairs. Gerry loved getting together with all her children and grandchildren and just watching them have fun together. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St, in Horseheads on Monday, December 15th from 11:00am – 12:30pm. Gerry's funeral service, celebrating her faith and life, will be held at 12:30pm. Committal and interment will follow in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY.
