ENNIS, Dolores Dawn (Harding)

Age 91, formerly of Hickory Grove Road in Horseheads, NY. Dolores (Doty or Dodie) was born May 31, 1934 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Donald and Wilhelmenia (Paul) Harding, and passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23rd, 2026 at Elcor. In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her husband of over 57 years, Robert Francis Ennis, in 2012 and her brothers Donald (Ted) and Paul Harding.

In addition to being the most loving and wonderful mother you could ask for, Dolores was a secretary at Saint James Church and also Dadant and Sons, Inc in Waverly, NY as well as a long time volunteer at Elcor, Horseheads, NY. She spent her last days as a patient at Elcor. She truly loved and was greatly loved by everyone there as well as her personal care team from CareFirst NY. They are truly special people and provided such wonderful care for her. She so very much loved everyone in her family, extended family, classmates of Waverly 1952 and most everyone she met, and she let them know.

She is survived by her daughters and son, Robin (Raymond) Willson of Sayre, PA, Christine (Dave) Peterson of Hammondsport, NY and James Ennis of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Youngman, Amanda (fiancé Richard Germade-Craan) Peterson, Matthew (Becky) Peterson and Shannon (Adam) Kamas; Great Grandchildren Caleb Kamas and Elliot Peterson, Step Grandchildren Joshua (Emily) and Jacob Willson, step Great Grandchildren Ryan Willson, Jonah Willson, Emma and Aiden Cole, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Later in her life, Dolores heard the Gospel. It opened her eyes, she learned, and she believed in the Gospel. Jesus Christ is her Lord and Saviour and we know that she is with Him now.

Family and friends are invited to the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 from 2 pm to 3 pm. At 3 pm there will be time of prayer and sharing to celebrate her life

She will be laid to rest aside Robert in a private ceremony with family; committal and interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Waverly.
