Barbara Elaine Badman Obituary
Barbara Badman, a devoted mother, daughter, and lifelong servant of her community, passed away on December 21, 2025. She was 75 years old.
Born on December 6, 1950, in the Village of Cayuga, she carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life. A proud graduate of Union Springs High School, Class of 1968, she went on to pursue her passion for animals at SUNY Cobleskill, where she spent four years studying Animal Science.
For over 20 years, she served as the head secretary for the Geriatrics 4D unit at Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital. Her work there was more than a job; it was a commitment to the care and dignity of the elderly, a testament to her kind heart.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a dedicated Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Horseheads, she poured her energy into her church family and the spiritual growth of the children she taught.
Beyond her work and ministry, she had many other passions. She was a lifelong animal lover, a creative soul who found joy in arts and crafts, and an avid bargain hunter. She found beauty in the simple things in life, and preferred to purchase items from local businesses or handmade items.
She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Middleton (100); her daughter, Trisha Badman; and her brother, David Middleton. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Byrnes, and her brother, Dale Middleton, and father Bernard Middleton.
Barbara Badman will be buried at The Lakeview Cemetery of Cayuga, NY: 6155 Cemetery Ln, Cayuga, NY 13034; Section III, Lot 80 E1/2 in the summer of 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the below in her memory. You can also simply plant her favorite flower, daisies, this spring to remember her light.
