Richard L. Whipple Sr.
Age 90, of Horseheads, NY. Richard was born June 9, 1935 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Richard P. and Margaret E. (Lacy) Whipple. He passed away in peace on Monday, March 30th, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived and celebrated by his beloved wife Betty (Vosburgh); their children Richard L. Whipple Jr., Deborah Hastings, and Katrina (John) Princiotto; grandchildren Kerrigan Hastings, Kalle and Trey Princiotto; great granddaughter Clara Bonyak; sister Annette Whipple; sister in law Mary Ann Vosburgh; along with several nieces, and nephews.
Dick served in the Air Force from June of 1952 to June of 1960.
After leaving the Service, he worked as a corrections officer, retiring from Elmira Correctional Facility after 30 years.
At his request, there will be no services. Dick will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery, in Horseheads, with military honors .
