Dennis William Buckley Obituary

Dennis W. Buckley

October 17, 1953 – April 6, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis W. Buckley, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 6, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 17, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dennis lived a life defined by faith, love, and an unwavering devotion to his family and God. In 1998, he moved to Dundee, New York, after being recruited by Corning Inc., where he built a long and respected career as an engineer and earned multiple patents. Following his retirement, Dennis continued to pursue his passions, becoming a real estate agent with Keuka Lake & Land Realty.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Regina D. (Connor) and William W. Buckley; his father-in-law, Dennis A. Knapp; and his cousin, Christine Connor.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marci Buckley; his daughters, Gracyn Buckley and Ana Buckley, who were the center of his world; and their fiancés, Jon Shock and Jack Chapman, whom he loved as his own. His greatest joy was being "Pa" to his cherished grandchildren, Audrey Lyla Chapman and Gideon William Shock. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Helen A. Lynk; his loyal companion, Ashford, his beloved Saint Bernard, and many other loved family and friends.

Dennis's education began at Catholic grade school and Valley Forge Military Academy. He later attended Rutgers and obtained degrees in Diesel Engine Mechanics and HVAC, as well as one of the first degrees in Lasers and Photonics. He eventually finished his Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Alfred University.

A man of many talents, Dennis found great fulfillment in life's simplest moments, especially those spent with family. He was a private pilot who also enjoyed gardening, making maple syrup, and hosting chicken BBQs. He took immense pride in his craftsmanship, recently completing a kitchen renovation in his home. Dennis also loved

to travel, creating countless memories on annual deep-sea fishing trips to New Jersey and month-long adventures across the U.S and recently visiting Scotland. No matter where he travels, he made friends or bumped into an old friend. His true comfort was always revisiting South Jersey and the ocean.

Whether he was introducing friends to new foods or speaking openly about his faith and love for Jesus, Dennis lived boldly and with intention. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who offered steady guidance and unconditional love, always placing his family first.

Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that his life was a testament to God's grace and that he is now at peace in His eternal presence.
