Betty Jean Williamson Obituary

Betty Jean Williamson

of Elmira, NY passed away surrounded by her children and twin Sister (Peggy) early Friday morning, May 15th. Betty was a graduate of Southside High school and the Elmira Business Institute where she became a very talented medical transcriptionist. While she faced many trials from an early age, Betty was known to those close to her for her sharp wit and a disarming sense of humor. She was an intelligent woman that loved fiercely and had a very protective heart for the weak and powerless. She loved chocolate and coffee, she loved her family and she loved the Lord. She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren and six siblings as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply. Her children: Nate (Kristine) McCollum of Milton, PA and their children Audrey, JJ, Breeley, Caroline, Levi and Simi. Santana (Brian) VanDusen of Horseheads, NY and their children Jayden, Timothy and Azrielle. Adrianna (Rob) Maggese of Elmira, NY and their children Brice, Bentley and Bella. And her youngest son (with whom she shared a very special bond) Christian Brown of Elmira, NY. Her siblings: Mary Moa of Jacksonville, FL, Hank (Laura) Williamson of Virginia, Jenny Barrows of Montour Falls, NY, Judy (Roger) Weiskopff of Pine City, NY, Joanne Williamson of Montour Falls, NY and Peggy Wilkins of Elmira, NY. Family and friends are invited to to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads, NY on Friday May 22nd, 2026 from 10am to 11am. Her memorial service will be held at 11am.
