Debra L. Colony Obituary
It is with broken hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Debra L. Colony (Treat), 76 born to and predeceased by Sayre and Leona Treat (Wood), a woman who lived a life defined by her strong faith and whose love for God radiated through everything she did, teaching us the true meaning of grace, compassion and love, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2026.
She was survived by her husband and the love of her life, Fredrick A. Colony; children Jeremy (Mindy) Colony, Christine Duvall, Faith (Joseph) Marmor, Brian (Katherine) Colony, Joy (Andrew) Melbie, Robert (Karen) Colony and Adam (Krystal) Colony; 22 cherished grandchildren Seth, Kimberly (Matthew), Kayley, Logan (Ashley), Isaac (Nicole), Jonathan (Courtney), Zachary (Gretchen), Julie, Angelina, Joseph, Anabelle, Troy, Berkeley, Justyce, Jordynne, Jaxin, Millie, Londyn, Noah, Zoë, Natalie, and Karter; 11 great grandchildren Piper, Colton, Gavin, Madeline, Theodore, Jace, Cameron, Rhett, Jack, Cora, and Landyn; sister Beth (Bugar) VanDyke, as well as nephew Pete and niece Sayra, and will be deeply missed by all.
Debra L. Colony was the proudest and most devoted wife, mother and grandmother who leaves behind a legacy of service, true faith and love. A celebration of her life and faith will be held on May 27, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm, at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Horseheads, New York. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her memory. A burial will be held at 10:00 am on May 28, 2026 at Forest Lawn Cemetery for family only.
Though our hearts grieve for her absence, we take comfort in knowing we will see her again someday. We will always carry her love and memory in our hearts.
