In Loving Memory of Margaret "Peggie" Diello

It is with heavy hearts, yet grateful spirits, the we announce the passing of Peggie Diello- a beloved mother, with, and cherished friend. Peggie left this world on May 21th, 2026 at the age of 72, in the compassionate care of Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on May 8th, 1954 Peggie's journey began in a world she would touch with her kindness and grace. She pursued her education at Elmira College, where she developed a profound love for learning and the commitment to making a difference. Throughout her life, Peggie carried the values she cultivated during her academic years, remaining a lifelong advocate for education and community service.

Peggie was the cherished wife of the late Edward J. Diello, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love. Together the created a nurturing home, filled with laughter, compassion, and unwavering support. Peggie's heart was further expanded with the birth of her son, Christopher Diello, who survives her and carries forth her legacy of kindness and integrity.

Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was an active and devoted member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Horseheads, NY. Peggie found great joy and solace within the church community, contributing her time and talents to various ministries and outreach programs. Her spirit of generosity and hospitality was felt by all who entered her life.

A celebration of Peggie's life will be held in her Memorial Mass on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at 5:30pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, located at 408 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY 14845. Join us on Tuesday to honor her memory and celebrate her beautiful life Peggy lived.

Peggy Diello's memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved in the community that she enriched with her presence. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love for her family and friends will forever be cherished, May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with Edward, enveloped in the love she so generously shared throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to the Chemung County SPCA – a Peggie Diello Memorial Fund works to ensure her legacy of kindness and making a difference.

Peggy, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, your life was a testament of love, faith, and service; you will be dearly missed, but your light will shine on in the hearts of all who knew you.
