Judith A. "Judy" Brown (Perry)

Age 77, of Elmira, NY. Judy was born February 18, 1949 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Donald B. and Gladys (Percy) Perry, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2026.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear husband of 45 years Ray "Rusty" R. Brown in 2017.

She is survived their children Christopher (Holly) Brown of Saratoga Springs, NY, Steven (Samantha) Brown of Arlington, WA, and Stacie (Scott) Mattison of Horseheads, NY; beloved grandchildren Casey (Sarah), Morgan (Cliff), and Taylor Brown, Ashley (Jacob) Howell, Austin (Taylor) Brown, Emile (Luke) Bennett, Deric (Madelyn) Fresne, Kenneth, Justin, and Jenifer Mattison; great grandchildren, Oliver Howell, Charlie Howell, Lawson Brown, and newly arrived Philip Bennett; her siblings Jean Jordan, and Charles Perry; along with a host of extended family and many dear friends.

Judy went to work for American La France out of high school. After falling for Rusty, she stayed home to raise their children, taking on the biggest job but the greatest joy of her life. After her children became school age, she went back to work. First at Ruddicks Dry Cleaning, Judy then found her passion and purpose as a teacher's aide in the Elmira City School District, where she stayed until her retirement. She was a long time member for the Order of the Eastern Star in her younger years, and lived out her joy by centering her life around her family. Though there may have been 'chaos' as the children, grandchildren, and great grands descended upon her home in later years, she no doubt wouldn't have traded that for anything on this Earth.

Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Tuesday, July 28th from 1 to 3 pm and from 5 to 7 pm. Her funeral service will follow at 7 pm. Rev. Clyde McCaskill officiating.

Judy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony beside Rusty, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.
