I was so sorry to read in the Winston Salem, NC newspaper of Ted's death. I have fond memories of Ted as he was the one that helped me ski down ""Ball Hooter"" trail at Snowshoe, WVa the first time. I was terrified, but he coaxed me down. At a different ski trip we were in Breckenridge CL (I think) and I froze on a dangerous slope. Again he was behind me and coaxed me to back up & break that fear. So much fun and I was SO appreciative. Recently I had asked several ski club members about where he was. We never knew he had moved away. I guess I must have had some premonition that he was sick. Many blessings and comfort to you as he will be remembered by many ski club members from Winston Salem, NC.

Lou,
On behalf of Camp Raven Knob and me personally, I want you to know how sad we were to hear of Ted's passing. His talents, skills and overall Scouting knowledge were only matched by the friendship we shared. I learned so much from him over the years as we worked together at Raven Knob. Take care and please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
A Scout is Reverent,
Keith Bobbitt

Ted and I were thrown together in the old kitchen at CRK. It was my first weekend on the OA cook crew. An old hand,Ted was making sheet cakes, and from then for over 10 years Ted and I baked hundreds of sheet cakes and hundreds of pumpkin pies, our specialty. As Scoutmasters, we planned joint activities for our scouts. Ted's knowledge and experiences were very valuable to me over the years. We were in the same Silver Beaver class. It has been my honor have known Ted, a true gentleman. Lou, you and your extended family will remain in my thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ted. I lived in the same quarters as Ted for a few summers at Raven Knob and I always thought that he was one of my favorite people on staff. Ted loved the camp, loved instructing shooting sports, and most importantly, loved helping the boys. Ted will be missed

It is hard to believe that our ""tracks"" crossed about forty years ago due to my and Ted's mutual interest in model railroading. But he was so much more than a model builder and it is for those reasons that your loss will be shared by many. I am sincerely sorry for the loss to you and your family.
