Obituary of Charles E. Hartsock

HARTSOCK, Charles E. Age 88 of Barnes Hill Rd. Horseheads and formerly of Cadet Terrace, Southport passed away Mar. 4, 2015. He was born in Williamsport, PA to William and Margaret (Blitz) Hartsock. Charles is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Misleany) Hartsock; Daughters and son, Sylvia (James) Berry of Elmira, NY, Cynthia (Todd) Stump of Horseheads, NY, William “Bill” Hartsock also of Horseheads, NY; Grandchildren, Trisha (John) Collins, Nicole (Joe) McLane, Arielle (Joel Ryan) Hartsock and Daniel Hartsock; Great grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Will, Conner and Natalie; Sister, Patricia Martin of Roanoke, VA and brothers Robert Hartsock of Auburn, NY and Gordon (Waneta) Hartsock of Millport, NY and loving k-9 pal “Shasta” and several nieces, nephews and many close and caring friends, including, Lynn ( Doris ) Struzinsky, Bernie Weigle, Anthony Belloma, and Eddie Euchner He was also predeceased by his siblings Raymond Hartsock, June Goldy, Irene Radaker, Lu Esther Moulthrop. Charlie was a retired tractor trailer driver with Red Star Express, member and Recording Secretary of the Teamsters’ Local # 529 in Elmira. He was also a part time police officer with the Town of Southport Police Department and 50 year member of Southport Volunteer Fire Department. Charles was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church and long time usher there. He was also a veteran of the US Navy and member of the Horseheads American Legion Post #422. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Friday Mar. 6, 2015 from 4-7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 W. Broad St. Horseheads on Sat. Mar. 7, 2015 at 9:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery.
