Obituary of Edward O. Eddy

EDDY, Edward O. Age 93 of Pine City passed away after a long illness on October 31, 2015. He was born in Elmira to Bert and Mabel Smith Eddy. Eddie is survived by his wife, Mary; and Mary’s family, Brenda (Thomas) Finnerty of Columbia Cross Roads; and granddaughter, Alissa. He was predeceased by his loving first wife, Lucille in 1988. They shared 44 ½ wonderful years together. Eddie was a Marine Corp Veteran of World War II and a retired NYS Trooper with Troop E with 23 years of service. He supported the American Legion, VFW, and the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA for many years. He was a dog lover, owning over 20 dogs in his life, most adopted from the society. Eddie played many instruments, and with several bands in the area including The Steve Bennett Band, Country Drifters and The San Antones.
