Stanton, Horace B. Jr.
Of Horseheads, NY passed away on Sunday March 6, 2016 at home. He was the son of the late Horace and Hilda Vanderwall Stanton. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas L. Stanton Sr., siblings, Marjorie Covert, Russell Stanton, Marion Donalds and Marvin Stanton. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Sheive Stanton, sons, William D. Stanton of Breesport, NY, Jeffery L. Stanton of Elmira, NY, daughter-in-law, Denise Stanton; grandchildren, Kimberly, Thomas Jr., Mallory, Corey Stanton and Brooke Edwards; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Greene and Allen Sheive. Horace served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a welder at the American Bridge for many years and was the owner and operator of Cedar St. Welding in Elmira, NY. There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
