Marilyn has been a friend of mine for over 60 years, as a matter of fact, I take pride knowing I introduced her to Don Howe. My wife, MaryJo and I have spent many vacations in the home that Howie built, our memories are priceless. Our combined families spent a week at the lake, that our children still talk about as the ""best vacation ever."" We miss Howie and we will now miss Marilyn but we know she and Howie are together and with that we find comfort.
Our love and condolences to Kathy and her family,
MaryJo and Bloomie

I am extremely saddened to hear of Mrs. Howe's passing. I was one of her students at Broad Street Elementary in 1975 AND 1976! I had her as my first grade teacher and she moved to second grade with me and I had her again. She was strict and had high expectations of her students but I needed that. There is always that one teacher that you look back on and know that they made a difference. For me, that was Mrs. Howe. She was the first educator to make me realize that if I kept my mouth shut (I was a social butterfly) and kept my nose to the grindstone that I could accomplish anything I put my mind to. She had me pegged as a writer but alas, I have been a registered nurse for over 25 years. Thank you Mrs. Howe for all that you did for so many youngsters and especially me. My sincere thoughts and prayers go to your family at this time. They can find peace in the fact that you did make a difference!
