Obituary of Catherine I. (Guthrie) Henry

Henry, Catherine I. (Guthrie) age 87 of the Chemung County Nursing Facility and formerly of Perry St. in Horseheads passed away Friday morning, March 25, 2016, at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband, Hosea M. Henry, in 1990. She was born in Elmira, NY, to the late John M. Guthrie and Irene (Sullivan) Guthrie. Catherine retired from American Bridge Works in Elmira as an accounting secretary and was a long time communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. She is survived by extended family members including cousin, Agnes Hulbert of Horseheads; and was also predeceased by her brother, John Guthrie and sister, Patricia (Francis) Putney and more recently, a cousin, William Hulbert. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc., 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 9:00AM-9:30AM. Funeral and committal services will follow at 9:30AM with the Rev. Christopher E. Linsler officiating. Interment will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
