Obituary of Margaret Elise Haesloop-Gruslin

Haesloop-Gruslin, Margaret Elise Age 98, formerly of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016, peacefully in her sleep. Margaret was born in Elmira, NY, January 16, 1918. She graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1936 and went on to earn a B.A. from Elmira College in 1940. She was employed by the NYS Department of Labor as an office manager. Margaret was interested in art, theater, bridge, travel and was a longtime member of Our Saviour´s Lutheran Church in Horseheads. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Gruslin, in 1995; and within days after Margaret’s passing, her nephew, Ralph G. Haesloop, also passed peacefully. Margaret is survived by her step-daughter, Katherine Gruslin-Meen; great nieces, Linda H. Aker, Donna H. Snover; and great nephew, J. Christian Haesloop, as well as their children; grandchildren; and their spouses. Margaret was also predeceased by her parents, John D. Haesloop and Gertrude Haesloop; brothers, George C. Haesloop, John D. Haesloop; sister, Rose Kolstad; and stepson, Michael Gruslin. A family graveside service will be held in the spring of 2017 to honor and celebrate her life.
