Obituary of Kenneth G. Wells

WELLS, Kenneth G. Age 87 of Sing Sing Rd. Horseheads passed away Sat. Dec. 17, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Pine City, NY on Jan. 7, 1929 to the late Frank and Clara (Oldroyd) Wells. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis (Peake) Wells; Sons and daughter, Doug (Jane) Wells of Horseheads, NY, Joan (Jeffrey) Burger of Pine City, NY, Kenneth (Jennifer) Wells of Clarence, NY; Grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Burger, Bryan (Chiho Ikegami) Burger, Matthew Wells, Zacheus, Evelyn, Luciano and Genovese Wells; Sister-in-law, Leola (Lauren) MacDougall of Millport; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was also predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Ella Smith, Helen VanHouten, James Wells, Franklin Wells and Raymond Wells. Ken worked for National Homes Corp. for 17 years and later established Kitchen Specialties in Big Flats which he co-owned for 47 years. He was also a member of Horseheads Elks BPOE #2297, Past Exalted Ruler and past treasurer there. He was also a member of Horseheads Rotary. Ken was a builder his entire life, including building the home where he lived and raised his family. He loved his family and especially time with his grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Wed. Dec. 21, 2016 from 4-7:00 pm. His service will take place there on Thurs at 11:00 am with burial service to follow in Rural Home Cemetery.
