Obituary of Merrill Ralph ""Twig"" Terwilliger

TERWILLIGER, Merrill Ralph "Twig" Age 88 of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully at home Jan. 25, 2017. He was born in Elmira Sept. 1, 1928 to Melvin and Frances (Merrill) Terwilliger. Twig was predeceased by his wife, Marlene (Miller) Terwilliger in 1997. He is survived son and daughters, Stephen (Regena) Terwilliger of LaVerne TN, Marilyn (John) Mullen of Big Flats, NY, Carolyn Patterson of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Stephen Baker, Cheyenne and Tyler (Hannah) Koning, Mardee Rafferty, Michael (Jennifer) Mullen and Craig (Meghan) Mullen, Stephanie (Gonzalo) Galeano and Sara (Ian) Shilling; great grandchildren, Nicholai, Sophia, Benjamin, Rosalie, Gavin, Shawn, Collin, Caroline, Makaylah and Conner; his special angel on earth, Betty Empson and many lodge members and friends. Twig retired from Corning Inc. as a machinist. He was active in Boy Scouts, member of Golden Eagles, Horseheads Elks, Moose and Horseheads lodge #364 F.& A.M. He was also an avid musician ‘Twig Terwilliger Trio” and drummer. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sunday Jan. 29, 2017 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. His Masonic and funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.
