Obituary of Franklin Farley Mosch

Franklin Farley Mosch“Mighty Mosch” Age 89 passed away Mar. 29, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. Frank was born in Coudersport, Jan. 9, 1928 to Frank and Margery (Farley) Mosch. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Emma (Brazee) Mosch; children, Susan (Joseph) LaFergola, Carl Mosch, David Mosch; step children, Barbara Hewes, Robert Mendenhall and Bill Mendenhall; grandchildren, Jennifer Conley, Tonia (Ken) Driscoll, Julie (Steve) Crawford, Caitlin LaFergola and Elizabeth Mosch; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Margery (Richard) Schornstheimer with their family, Diane Klugo and Richard (Marilyn) Schornstheimer Jr.. In addition to his parents, Frank was also predeceased by his grandchildren, Christine Mosch and Jayme Mosch. Frank served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre and upon returning home he worked for JCPenny for 5 years. He then worked for Sears and retired after 38 years of service. Frank was a faithful member of Caton United Methodist Church for 25 years. He participated in missions to Guatemala and Nepal as well as disaster missions for Hurricanes Hugo and Katrina. He was a devoted volunteer of Habitat for Humanity building 16 homes and over his lifetime, donated 32 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He was a longtime member of the Chemung County Rod and Gun Club as well as a member of Coudersport, PA, Masonic Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. Frank was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, camping, cycling, canoeing, traveling and reading. He climbed all 46 peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Frank was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Family and friends are invited to call at the Caton United Methodist Church 11186 Hendy Hollow Rd, Corning, NY 14830 on Sat. April 1, 2017 from 10-11:00 am where his service will follow at 11:00 am. The family would like to thank the staff at Arnot Health 3B and CareFirst. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frank's name to the Caton United Methodist Church and/or the National Parkinson Foundation.
