Obituary of Ray R. “Rusty” Brown

BROWN, Ray R. “Rusty” Age 67 of Elmira passed away after a brief illness April 15, 2017. Rusty was born December 14, 1949 in Elmira to the late Lawson “Brownie” and Maria (Nickerson) Brown. He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Judy (Perry) Brown; sons, Christopher (Holly) Brown of Saratoga Springs, NY, Steven (Samantha) Brown of Arlington, WA; daughter, Stacie (Scott) Mattison of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren, Casey, Morgan and Taylor Brown, Ashley (Jacob) Howell, Austin Brown, Emile and Deric Fresne, Kenneth, Justin and Jenifer Mattison; great-grandson, Oliver Howell; brother, Thomas Brown of Elmira; sister, Nina (Walt) Kilgus of Angleton, TX; several nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Rusty was a past member and past master of Southern Light Lodge F. & A. M. He had worked as a builder for many local contractors. More recently he worked for Gough Holding, Corp. in Horseheads. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed spending time with his family and time spent in his wood shop. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 1-3:00 and again from 5-7:00 pm. where his service will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
