Obituary of Ethel B. Palko
PALKO, Ethel B.
of Horseheads, NY, daughter of the late Walter and Blanche (Bates) Brill was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1928. She graduated from Honesdale High School and was united in holy matrimony to Joseph Patrick Palko Jr. after his return from the south pacific in World War II on
May 1, 1948. Joseph preceded her in death on March 31, 1992. She was a long-standing member of the Community Wesleyan Church, worked for the Board of Elections and collected on behalf of March of Dimes for many years, and enjoyed to baking and polka dancing. Ethel quietly departed this life on Sat. May 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Leon Brill, Lois Beardsley, and Lawrence Brill. Her life will be forever remembered in the lives of her four children: Joseph (Judith) Palko III; Michael (Kristine) Palko; Roxanne (Sheldon) Smith; Kimberly (Michael) Brown; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grand children, one great great grandchild; sisters Delores Skinner and Norma Canfield and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads NY on Tues May 9, 2017 from 3-5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 5:00 pm. A private burial service beside her late husband will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of her family. Those wishing may remember Ethel with a donation to the charity of their choice.
