Obituary of William A. Gleason

GLEASON, William A. Age 90 of Bethany Village and longtime resident of Kinley Place in Horseheads passed away Tues, May 30, 2017 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. William was born Dec. 20, 1926 in Mauston, WI, to the late Leo and Elizabeth (Smart) Gleason. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor (Doyle) Gleason on Jan 5, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Guerci, her husband John of Richmond, VA and grandchildren, Michael and Katherine with her daughter, Jada; Son, Gerald Gleason, his wife Kelly of Beaver Dams, NY and children, Dustin and Shawn (Kayla) with their son, Brayden; Son, James Gleason, his wife Jonna and grandchildren Matthew and Mara of Newburgh, IN; Sister-in-law, JoAnna Gleason of Modesto, CA; In addition to his parents and first wife Eleanor, Bill was also predeceased by his brothers, John and Harold Gleason and recently his wife, Betty Gleason. Bill was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired Chemical Engineer with Corning Inc. He was a graduate of University of WI and prior to Corning Inc. worked for RCA in Indiana. Locally he was also a member of the Horseheads Elks Lodge #2297. Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, Today, Thurs. June 1, 2017 from 4-6:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial with be celebrated in St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 W. Broad St. Horseheads on Fri June 2, 1017 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery.
