Obituary of Jane Wisbey

WISBEY, Jane C. Age 67 of North St. Horseheads and long time resident of Albany was united with her Lord and Savior on Fri. June 23, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Jane was born Feb. 18, 1950 in Long Branch, NJ. She was predeceased by her father, the late Dr. Herbert A. Wisbey Jr., Professor Emeritus at Elmira College and is survived by her mother, Adelia Wisbey of Horseheads; brothers and sister, Thomas (Karen) Wisbey of Eliot, ME, Susan Van Alst of New Paltz , NY, Peter (Sarah) Wisbey of Rochester, NY; Nieces and nephews, Kenneth (Nadine) Van Alst, James (Eileen) Van Alst, Laura (Nathan Harl) Van Alst; Jonathan, Kate, Anna and Julia Wisbey; Grand nephews, Amon, Angelo, and Marshall Van Alst; And a host of dear friends and co workers. Jane was a graduate of Horseheads High School class of 1968 and graduate of both EBI and Elmira College. Jane was a long time resident of Albany where she was employed as a case worker with the Department of Social Services working with special needs adults. She was a devoted daughter, sister and very special aunt. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Wed. June 28, 2017 from 5-7:00 pm. Her service will be celebrated in the First Presbyterian Church 2943 Westinghouse Rd. Horseheads on Thurs at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira.
