Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Golden
Golden, Susan Elizabeth
She was born in corning NY to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Eames of Big Flats NY on January 24th, 1964, and she passed away peacefully on June 30th while surrounded by the people who loved her. She is survived by her daughter Sara Elizabeth Golden, her son Andrew David Golden, her three beautiful grandchildren, her siblings Cindy Jividen, Nancy Horton, Linda Anderson, Gerold Eames, and her blood sisters Michelle Sigmund and Kimberly Jividen. She worked for Steuben County as a systems analyst starting in October of 1986, and she was part of that family for 30 years. I say family, because that’s how she saw all of you. I want to thank Mike, Jennifer (and you too Brad), Lois, Kathy, Jeni, Sara, Rob, Steve, Tom, Terry, Nathan, Chris, Janice, Judy, Darla, Sue H, and Ken for always being a reason she smiled. She loved her job, and she loved all of you. Oh, and I guess she liked, Benjamin too. And I never met another soul with a smile like hers. She always laughed even when she wanted to cry, she was so strong, I'd swear she was invincible, because no matter what was thrown her way she handled it like some sort of extraterrestrial. “Things could always be worse,” was her key turn of phrase, and she led her life with that so the world couldn’t taint her precious days. She was always so encouraging, and she made people believe in themselves. She also had so much self-worth; she knew her limits and when to stop getting hurt. Her memory was terrible, and she could never remember your name, but she was so incredibly intelligent, accepting, understanding, and caring. She cared more about others than she ever did herself; she gave pieces away with no regard of her health. And I’ll meet you in the next life, and forevermore, because if soul mates exist you were definitely mine. I love you mom, you are my best friend. Rest easy my beautiful soul. Till I meet you again.
She did not want a funeral, so instead we will be celebrating her life with a party in her memory on Friday, August 25th at the American Legion in Big Flats. www.barberfuneralhome.com
