Obituary of Alfred G. Dalrymple

Dalrymple, Alfred G. Of Horseheads, NY, passed away at the age of 95 on October 19, 2017. He was born to Charles and Hazel (Breese) Dalrymple on May 28, 1922. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, A. James Dalrymple and Lois (Shield) Dalrymple of Horseheads, NY; daughter and son-in-law Judith and Albert Pearce Jr. of Watkins Glen, NY; 4 grandchildren – Rebecca (Pearce) Chester, Theodore (Nicki) Pearce, Kelly (Michael) Brouthers, and Holly (Douglas) Graham; 6 great-granddaughters –Payton and Rylie Brouthers, Ainsley and Emlyn Pearce, and Macie and Emily Graham; sister-in-law Barbara (Spink) Dalrymple, along with several nieces and nephews and close friend Virginia Hozempa. Al was predeceased by his first wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Miller) Dalrymple on 9/3/2002; his second wife, V. June Weatherbee on 12/13/2009; and his brother Charles E. Dalrymple on 3/20/2009. In his life Al was active in 4H Club, FFA, Chemung County Holstein Club, Chemung Valley Farmers Museum, Twin Tier Ostomy Club, and Mark Twain Barbershop SPEBSQSA Chapter. We was a 77 year member of First Presbyterian Church in Horseheads, NY. He spent 70 years as a dairy farmer on Sing Sing Road in Horseheads, NY; one of his favorite things to do was to jump on his Case tractor in the spring of the year and start plowing. Family and friends are invited to call at Barber Funeral Home, 413 South Main Street, Horseheads, NY, on Sunday, October 22nd from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. His funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 2943 Westinghouse Road, Horseheads, NY on Monday, October 23rd at 10:30am.
