Obituary of Ethel Combs

COMBS, Ethel M. “Gram” Long time resident of Philo Rd. West and 97 years young passed away after a brief illness on Tues Oct. 10, 2017. Ethel was predeceased by her husbands, Donald McCann, Alva Combs, son-in-law, Reuben Kline and recently her daughter Barbara Kline. She is survived by her Grandchildren Marian (Michael) Ameigh of Watkins Glen, NY, Penny (William) Lewis of Burdett, NY, Gerald Kline of Okeechobee, FL, Lewie (Linda) Kline of Campbell, NY, and Joseph (Rachel) Kline of Waverly, NY; Step children, David (Betty) Combs of Spencer, NY, Gloria (Wayne) Stanton of Binghamton, NY, Charlotte (Ralph) Buchannan of Horseheads, NY, Harriet Halliday of Horseheads, NY, Pearl Combs of Virginia Beach, VA, John (Carol) Combs of Florida numerous great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; friends and neighbors including, Rosie Edger of Horseheads. Ethel was a retired nurses aid with Elcor Nursing Facility retiring at the age of 79. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics and crafts and caring for her family, being especially famous for her meatballs. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Fri Oct. 13, 2017 from 12:00 noon- 2:00 pm. Her service will be celebrated there at 2:00 pm with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
