Obituary of Earl A. Shive

SHIVE, Earl A. Age 92 and formerly of Weller Ave and currently of Appleridge passed away Sat. Oct. 28, 2017. He was born in Harrisburg, PA to Harry and Edith (Messner) Shive. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Ruth on Jan. 30, 2009. Survivors include his Brother, Harry (Betty) Shive of Dauphin, PA and several nieces and nephews including, Joyce, Sandy, Scott, Mike, Wendy, and Sandra and Many dear friends and neighbors. Earl and Ruth were also predeceased by their son, Ronald in 1994. Together they were long time residents of Horseheads since 1952. Earl was a US Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Alabama and a retired electronic technician from the former Westinghouse Corp. in Horseheads. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 from 10:00 am-11:30 am. His service will take place there at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 11:30 am with his nephew, the Rev. Richard Barner officiating.
