Obituary of Patricia Beard
BEARD, Patricia Ann
Age 77 of The Villages and formerly of Horseheads passed away after an extended illness on Oct 24, 2017 while residing in Florida. Patricia was born in Elmira, NY, to the late William and Ruth (Fuller) Humphries. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Alfred Beard; Daughters and sons, Ann (David) Repsher of Elmira, NY, Alan Beard of Conklin, FL, Robert (Flora) of Hillsboro, OR, Suzanne (Barry) Nowlan of Erin, NY; Grandchildren, Toni West, Angela Gillette, Ashley (Andrew) Wolfe, Leslie (James Denicola) Nowlan, Melisa (Eric) Pickett, Joshua Beard, Emily Beard, and Andrew Beard; Great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Xander Gillette, Charleigh, Arya and Camryn Ripley, Jordan West, Cheyanne and Chase Wolfe, Julian Denicola, and Noah Pickett; Brother-in-law, Phil (Ida) Beard of Horseheads, and Sister-in-law, Joan (Chuck) Pittman of Melbourne Beach, FL.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was also predeceased by her brothers, Robert and William Humphries. Patricia was a retired Phlebotomist at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center and also a retired cosmetologist. She was also a long-time member of Horseheads First United Methodist Church and The Villages New Covenant United Methodist Church. Patricia was an accomplished quilter and painter, a member of the red hat society and a long time member and former president of the “Relaxed Squares” square dancing group. Patricia loved to golf, cook and entertain. Most important to Patricia was her husband, her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner Alfred. First in Patricia's life was her family and then her devotion to her church.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Sunday Nov. 5, 2017 from 12:00 noon – 3:00 pm. Her service will be celebrated there at the conclusion of calling hours at 3:00 pm. Condolences at www.barberfuneralhome.com
