Obituary of Frank L. Maximiek

MAXIMIEK, Frank L. age 72 of Rockwell, Ave. Horseheads passed away after a very brief illness December 4, 2017 at the VA Center in Bath. He was born April 30, 1945 in Cumberland, MD to the late Frank and Margaret (Smith) Maximiek. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of forty years, Dorothy. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Maximiek (Aimee Decker, partner), of Horseheads, NY, best friend and grandson, Alexander; daughter Sarah Maximiek (Charles Armbrecht) of Johnson City, NY; sister Margaret (Michael) Cicora of Orange Park, FL, and brother, Stephen Maximiek of Elmira, NY, long time good friend, George Hannon, and much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well an extensive and beloved family of in-laws. Frank graduated from Thomas Edison High School, and then went on to serve in the US Army during Vietnam (Spec. 5). Frank was a lifelong salesman, and had most recently retired from real estate work with Locey Real Estate. As befitting a salesman, he had the ability to make friends, or at least conversation, everywhere he went. Frank was an avid golfer, fisherman, pool player, and racquetball player, and was an adopted grandfather of Slabtown. There will be a celebration of his life at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are with Barber Funeral Home in Horseheads. Remembrances and condolences may be left and viewed at www.barberfuneralhome.com.
