Obituary of Wayne R. Hagen

Age 70 of Elmira, passed away at Arnot Medical Center on January 9th, 2018. Wayne was born July 8, 1947 in Evergreen Park, Illinois and was raised in Hubbard, Ohio. A star athlete in multiple sports, he attended Kent State University on a baseball scholarship. Wayne came to Elmira in 1975. He was a manager for Richman Brothers and Anderson Little in the Arnot mall. He later worked at Sherwin Williams until his retirement in 2010. Wayne was a very caring and selfless man; he was kind and generous with his time, money, and dry sense of humor. Wayne leaves his wife of over 41 years, Susan (Pierce) Hagen and his beloved daughter, Dr. Regis Hagen, both of Elmira; his brother Tom Hagen; nephew Kyle Hagen, and niece Bethany Wagner, all of Chattanooga TN. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main Street, Horseheads on Sunday January 14th, 2018 from 6 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of Wayne’s life will follow at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, Wayne’s family requests that those wishing make donations in his name to the Chemung County SPCA, the Elmira Animal Shelter, Second Chance Rescue in Wellsboro PA, or to the American Cancer Society. »(Do not delete this line.
