Obituary of Gordon R. Elford

ELFORD, Gordon R. Age 82 of Elmira Heights went home to the Lord on Sun. Feb. 25, 2018 at Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Elmira Heights to Wilbur and Grace (Wilson) Elford on Nov. 2, 1935. He is survived by his wife Eleanor “Bunny” Elford; daughter, Ginger Colinger and son, Brian (Joselyn) Elford; grandchildren, Courtney and Zachary Colinger; step-children, Jay (Sally) Cory, Juliana ( Rev. Scott) Wolf, John (Catherine) Cory; Sisters, Jane (James) Weiss, and Nancy Benjamin. He was also predeceased by his sister, Gladys Speen. Gordon was a US Air Force Veteran who loved his Country. He helped many people build or remodel their home. In addition, he was active with missionary work; twice traveling to Chile to assist in the building of their school. He loved skiing from the age of 3 until age 72. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Sat. Mar. 3, 2018 to take place at Maranatha Bible Chapel 774 Sing Sing Rd. Horseheads at 1pm with his son-in-law, Rev. Scott Wolf and Rev. William Wells officiating. A time of calling will immediately follow services in the sanctuary from 2-4:00 pm.
