Obituary of Harriette Evans Edger

EDGER Harriette Evans Edger, Age 92, of Salisbury,NC passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Born on October 1, 1925 in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of the late Delbert B. Evans, Sr. and Elsie Mault Evans. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Delbert B. Evans, Jr.; her sister, Eileen Devendorf and her loving husband of 67 years, Carlton E. Edger, Sr. Mrs. Edger operated an In-Home Daycare for many years, but most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She loved her family dearly and also enjoyed traveling and singing. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Carlton E. Edger, Jr. and wife Sherry of Corning, NY and Mark E. Edger and wife Cindy of Winston-Salem, NC; her two daughters, Rebecca Edger Herrmann and husband, Donald of Salisbury, NC and Deborah H. Fetter and husband, Michael of Reidsville, NC; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Jeanette and Steve Blanchard, Rita and Mike Efird, Wendy Freeman, Joyce Herrmann and the “Aloha” Girls. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads, NY. The funeral service honoring Mrs. Edger will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery.
