Dolly was a quiet and unassuming woman who delighted in her family and tending to their needs. She was fond of camping and spent many years traveling with John across most of New York State and other areas of the United States. Dolly’s gentle personality and endearing smile are the most treasured memories for the family along with her world-class potato salad and an annual Easter ham that she tended as if it was her first born. After graduating from Southside High School in 1941 and marrying John, they settled briefly in Alfred, NY while he went to college and then they returned home to Horseheads to raise their family. On Dolly’s behalf, the entire Breese family wishes to express their appreciation to the individual caregivers who tended Dolly while she was still residing at home and the aides, nurses, social workers and administrators at Bethany Skilled Nursing Facility who made her final days so much richer and gentler by their nurturing attention.
