Obituary of Shirley Ruth Kohan

Age 83 of Horseheads. She was born October 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Arthur and Naomi (VanNordstrand) Pelow, and passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 10, 2018. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her two brothers and two sisters. Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul Kohan; sons Rick (Margo) Kohan, Russell (Mary) Kohan; grandchildren, Leah (Bryan) Lewis, Jeremy (Trisha) Kohan, Caitlin Kohan, and Amanda Sophia; great-grandchildren, Bryanna Rutan, very dear to her heart Jeremy Kohan Jr (Sparky), Logan Lewis and Brayden Lewis, and Cody Smith; sisters, Donna Hill and Claira Ripley; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She retired from Thatcher Glass and Sears and was an active member of the Chemung Valley Old Timers Club. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads, on Thursday September 13th 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm. Shirley’s funeral service will follow at 4 pm. Rev. Rhonda Kouterick officiating. Committal will be held privately with family.
