Obituary of Laura Barlow McMahon

Laura Barlow Phillips McMahon, 103, of Horseheads NY, went to be with her Lord on September 28, 2019. Laura was born in Elmira NY, the daughter of Grace (Moore) and Harry Barlow. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband James Phillips; second husband Adrian McMahon; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Thelma Tupper; son-in-law Norman Mathews and her faithful furry companions Koko and Mittens. She graduated from Southside High School in 1935 and received her License Practical Nursing Certificate in 1948. She worked at the Arnot Ogden Hospital for 17 years and was the Nurse/Secretary for Dr. Otto Lederer for 25 years. She was an active member of the Breesport Methodist Church where she was the organist for 30 years. She volunteered for many years at CVAC and Arnot Ogden Auxiliary. Laura is survived by her children: Marion Mathews, Sandra Bonci with her children; Sandra (Tim) Mattison and Lauri (James) Rosplock; Michael (Helen) Phillips with their children; Christina Phillips and Michele (Adam) Petryka; Katharine (Paul) Crance with her children; Jacqueline (Douglas) Green, Nicole Eaton, and Deborah Teeter; 14 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces/nephews and their families, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be officiated by Pastor Kathy Dye at the Breesport United Methodist Church, 110 Church St., Breesport, NY, on Oct. 10, 2019. Calling hours from 10 a.m to 11 am. with the service beginning at 11:00 am. Reception to follow. Private Burial services at the convenience of the family.
