Age 90, formerly of Ponderosa Drive, Horseheads, NY. Joyce was born November 24, 1930 in Corning, NY, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Grant) Peer, and passed away Friday, March 5, 2021. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Daggett Ingham in 1988 and her brother Richard Peer in 2013. She is survived by her sister-in-law Winifred Peer of Syracuse, NY; loving nieces and nephews: Susan Peer Scheu (Carl) of Sherrill, NY; Steven Peer of East Syracuse, NY; Amy Peer Phillips (Richard) of Wilmington, NC; Jeff Ingham of Ft Augustine, FL; Vicky Ingham Petris (Ted) of Beaver Dams, NY and Donna Ingham Dacey (Pat) of Big Flats, NY; also her faithful caregivers, James & April Kane of Elmira Heights, NY; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Joyce graduated from Campbell High School in 1948. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Joyce worked at Moore Business Forms then The Corning Leader. Following her retirement, it was her joy to bake breads and cookies, greet guests and serve tea at Rosewood Inn, Corning NY. Knitting and crafts were her pleasure as well, turning out many sweaters, mittens and decorations to please all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to visit Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads on Saturday, March 13th at 12:00 noon. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Rev. Richard Hack will officiate; committal prayers and interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed. A Zoom link will be posted on this page on Saturday for those wishing to join the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joyce can be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 209 Gardner Rd., Horseheads, NY 14845, Bethany Village, 3005 Watkins Rd., Horseheads, NY 14845 or Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 48 Colonial Dr., Horseheads, NY 14845.
