Grandpa,
Although we weren’t in each other’s every day lives, the times we did spend together I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.
I never felt like a stranger when we saw each other, you always made us feel loved and cherished, and we have always felt the same about you.
One of my favorite memories is when you and Sarah came to California and me being old enough to take you two on a day trip to San Francisco. You were so adamant about putting your feet in the Pacific Ocean it became our mission, and we did it!! I can still see the smile on your face with your shoes off and your pants pulled up so they wouldn’t get wet, soaking your feet in Pacific Ocean.
Or the time you came and visited us when I was about 10 years old. You took me shopping at a sporting good store and told me I could get whatever I wanted.
I picked out a knife and sheath set that I knew my parents wouldn’t approve of me having at that age. When we got back and my parents saw what you bought me, it became ‘ok’ for me to have because you bought it for me, it was like we beat the system together. Haha.
So many more great memories of you are coming back to me while reminiscing of the times we spent together, I wish I could list them all.
I just hope you knew that we loved you and that you were never out of our thoughts.
You are sadly missed but greatly remembered!
