We are very sad to announce the loss of a truly great man, but also at peace knowing he is with the love of his life, married for 63 years to Charlotte Mary Tice. He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte Mary (Nero) Tice; father Anthony Edward Tice; mother Frances Ferguson Tice; father-in-law Lawrence Edward Nero Sr.; mother-in-law Thelma (Shipman) Nero; brothers Harry Tice and Roy Tice; brother-in-law Lawrence Edward Nero Jr., William Nero, Francis Howard and Richard Dekoschak; grandson Lawrence Charles Radford; and son in his heart Michael M. Westlake. Charles worked several jobs over the years while raising five children. He is very proud to have worked for the New York State Department of Labor as a Labor Service Representative from 1972- 1993. He excelled in helping people find employment, and many times lifelong careers. Even after being retired for many years, he would often be recognized, while out and about, by people he had helped and they just wanted to express their gratitude. "Charlie" was described by his coworkers as 'always the professional' and taking great pride in his customer service. Charles was a man who loved his family deeply. He was loved, respected and appreciated by all who met him. No public services will be held; the family will be honoring Charles's passing privately.
